This is our darling new cow. Her name is Buttermilk and she is a Jersey, Brown Swiss, Holstein cross. She is even more beautiful in real life... She is due to calf in mid August. At the moment she is producing about 3 gallons of milk a day! That is a lot of hot chocolate. Victor and I are learning to make cheese (and butter, yogurt, ice cream, whipped cream, etc). The daily routine of milking her has become the centre of our farm activities. Her gifts have become the staples of our diet. Thanks, Buttermilk!
